DAMAC Properties has handed over DAMAC Heights to the first of the super-tall high rise’s first tenants.

A spokesperson for DAMAC told Construction Week on Monday that the final figure of units sold so far at the tower was still to be confirmed. However, they noted that the luxury development was “close to ‘sold out’ when it was handed over to the CRM [customer relationship management] team for handovers”.

They added: “With over 600 units, the exact number will fluctuate slightly after the project is completed. Sometimes investor interest may have shifted towards other DAMAC projects or other changes.”

Arabtec Construction was the main contractor on DAMAC Heights – the value of which stood at $653.39m (AED2.4bn), according to the spokesperson on Monday.

Located at the promenade of Dubai Marina, the 94 floor tower features apartments comprising one to five bedrooms.

The top 40 floors of the tower, which overlook the Palm Jumeirah, make up DAMAC Residenze – the tower’s “ultra-luxury offering which features carefully crafted interiors by Fendi Casa”.

Speaking on the handover news in a statement, Ali Sajwani, general manager of operations at DAMAC Properties, said: “The handover of new homes is one of the most gratifying phases in real estate development.

“Welcoming customers into their new homes and watching the joy on their faces, when they first walk through their properties, reinforces our purpose at DAMAC.”

The group said that completion of DAMAC Heights marked a busy period for the developer as it prepares to handover units in Dubai and the region – including at DAMAC Hills, DAMAC Towers by Paramount Hotels and Resorts Dubai, and DAMAC Tower Amman.
