The stars of tomorrow were unveiled at the Arabian Business Achievement Awards, held last night in Dubai.

A prestigious gala dinner was held at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai to celebrate the achievements of the region’s most influential figure over the past three decades, in recognition of the 30th anniversary of ITP Media Group.

The event also looked ahead to the future to predict who the same awards might go to in the next 30 years.

ITP Media Group CEO Ali Akawi presented the awards to the following winners:

Abu Muadh

The founder of Smart Labour, an educational app that helps make blue-collar workers become more educated, happier, smarter and productive.

Already he has helped change tens of thousands of lives for the better, by giving people a hand-up and an opportunity to progress.

Adeeb Al Balushi

The 13-year old Emirati inventor has already has a list of inventions in medicine and space sciences, including a car seatbelt heart monitor, a cleaning robot and light-weight prosthetic limbs.

Adeeb’s sister, Dana, was also given a special mention. She was recognised as the world’s youngest astronaut candidate by NASA.

Ali Sajwani

The General Manager of Operations at DAMAC Group works closely with his father, Hussain, on the company’s strategic direction.

At 25 years of age, the young Emarati is also a seasoned entrepreneur who is exploring new frontiers, especially in the technology space, and has an active social media following of fans, who are being inspired by this young man’s drive and determination.

Alya Al-Ali

The Director of Expo 2020’s Youth Connect was appointed to the role, aged just 24. Expo 2020’s engagement project has launched several initiatives to ensure that the nation’s youth are a core part of the journey to Expo in 2020.

In her own words: “We believe that this generation, my generation, represents a powerful opportunity for the region, using the building blocks of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.”

Amani Al Hosani

We welcome the nation’s first female Emirati nuclear scientist, who started her career in oil, but re-trained after realising that nuclear energy was going to play a key role in the future of the UAE.

The engineer works for Nawah Energy Company, the operating company of Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Abu Dhabi, which will help power this region, and the world, to a more sustainable, energy-rich future.

Elissa Freiha

The co-founder of Dubai-based angel investment network, WOMENA, invests in the entrepreneurial success of others.

She is known for her mentoring, which she combines with a passion for female empowerment.

As this list of Future Stars tonight shows, women will play a huge part in the future of this region and Elissa Frieha is playing a vital role in this process.

Lama Younis

The forensic psychologist, criminologist, and founder of Hissah Enrichment Centre, focuses on the prevention of child abuse and the empowerment of its victims in the region.

As a Saudi woman, it was not easy for Younis to acquire the three titles, which is why she is also an advocate for personal and social improvement, and hopes to push women in the GCC to “follow what they really want to be”. We salute her courage and vision.

Rashed Belhasa

This young man recently acquired his one millionth subscriber for his MoneyKicks YouTube channel. He’s a social media star who meets the rich and famous, but that’s not all.

Rashed is using this platform to raise awareness and money for vital causes, such as his campaign to rebuild Puerto Rico.

In his own words: “From all the years of watching my father help with the Middle East and so many other parts of the world, I decided to follow his footsteps and start the good deeds of humanity on my own.”

Talib Al Hinai

The Emirati inventor developed the world’s first flying 3D printer and founded Buuildrone.

He graduated with first class honours from the University of Manchester, and was selected as a MIT Imperial College Global Fellow.

He is currently pursuing his PhD at Imperial College in London, where he is developing flying robots for aerial construction.

He has also worked with the Dubai Future Foundation on creating innovation centres for robotic technology, and is an ambassador for the Shorik initiative, which encourages overseas study for Emirati students.
